Are You a Vessels of God?

So many people try to use God, Jesus, & religion as vessels to get what they want instead of what God wants; we were all created to be vessels of God, not vise-versa. I always say you need to check out what anyone, including a preacher says with the Bible; If the preacher or person is following God what they say and the Bible says will not be contradictory. I don’t think God made us to dishonor him but he leaves the choice to us and too many times we do just that dishonor him.

Acts 9: 15. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.

Cor 4: 6. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

This kind of seals the door on if we are vessels of God. Are you doing his work and will, or yours? We are vessels of God. We were meant to be for God’s work but unfortunately not all vessels do their intended purpose.

Romans 9:21-23. 21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. 23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things.

How many times have you seen a school bus used for a house, an oil drum for a grill, tires for a swing or flowerbed? Are these their intended purpose? No, what about people who use the Bible verses to achieve their goals instead of God’s?

Gal. 1 6. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

How many TV preachers have you seen go down in flames, TV is an excellent way to reach many who are loss or home bound but it also brings many snares, traps, and temptations. Jesus lived a humble life and said do the same but how many TV preachers themselves are worth millions? How many of them are putting on a well-orchestrated show instead of a God led sermon; I can guarantee you that every one that has fell either didn’t really know God or forgot their responsibilities, purpose and was trying to achieve their Goals instead of Gods. Now I ask you, do you know why they fell? Are you on the same course? There are also many "Reverends" which you see on TV spewing hatred and when caught in a misjudgment will never apologize saying they were wrong, if they do it is never with the same fervor as when they falsely accused against someone; this is the same action as was committed against Jesus.

Did you know that there are “Christian” religions that preach you can become a God, how many preach that you can get to heaven by works alone, and how many denominations add or delete verses from the Bible to tailor it for their own agenda? What does the Bible say about this?

Rev 22: 18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book.

This spells it out according to the Bible, if you don’t agree, you might want to find out what is your motivation; you will see that it isn’t God’s will but yours. So, are you a vessel doing what God designed you to do, or not? God did send a vessel to deliver us, which was his son the Lord Jesus Christ. We all belong to God and are his vessels, yes all of us are broken, cracked, and damaged but he loves us and we can still be used by him for his meant purpose. The problem lies with us (his vessels) not doing their intended purpose, we are to spread his light and apply our strengths and gifts he has given us to carry out the great commission. Are we all doing what God’s vessels was design to do; no, instead we are doing what the devil wants in a lot of cases; instead of being humble and thanking God for what he has given us, we go on thinking WE are the reason we have succeeded. It’s amazing that most atheist use evolution as the means to say God doesn’t exist but Darwin himself after reviewing his work and finding that evolution (as a beginning) was an impossibility said, “This is just the ramblings of a foolish man”. He had to check it out to make sure it couldn’t have happened that way and he did, this was his job, but many people have left the last part of his study out, the conclusion. We also have a job commanded of us by God. If you have became so ridged that you have forgotten about what mercy is you need to think about it, if you can’t show mercy to help others, why should God have mercy on you? If you are on TV using the Bible and God to line your pockets, you need to think about it; the preachers and teachers will be held accountable. If someone were swindling you, what would you want to do?

Matt 18: 23. "Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24. "And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25. "But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26. "The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, `Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' 27. "Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. 28. "But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, `Pay me what you owe!' 29. "So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, `Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' 30. "And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31. "So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32. "Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, `You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33. `Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?' 34. "And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.

What type of vessel was the first servant; he was a perfect vessel unto all of us, we are vessels that can do good or evil, God’s work or the Devil’s, and can have compassion or be a ridged person but it is all our choice. What type of vessel are you?
